*Backstory*
One day while taking our grandson to a sleepover, we used a forest road as a shortcut. Standing off to the side of the road was a rooster. Me and the hubby kind of looked at each other like "Did you just see that?". So from there it was a mission to capture said rooster. We tried to catch him with a trap to no avail. So we waited for nightfall to let him roost, to make a long story short we did finally capture the rooster. Thank goodness there's no video, lol!
We tried to name him but nothing really stuck. I call him Rooster, but if you ask my husband, he would say his name is Chicken. He started our journey into homesteading. We now have 13 chickens, 3 turkeys and 5 ducks. I've started hatching my own chicks and my goal is to start selling eggs and chicks soon.
My passions are almost anything DIY, jewelry making, gardening/greenhouse, and homesteading. I'm also interested in candle making, soaping, and especially bee keeping. My hubby is a bit of a hoarder so I'm constantly coming up with projects for all the "treasures" he brings home. With all this sometimes its a struggle keeping on track. So to be honest the biggest reason I started this is to keep myself motivated, and along the way if someone can gain some inspiration than that's all the better.
